Committee Members and Volunteers Needed:
We have 2 important events for the area and the Chamber… The Vintage Faire May 11th at the Butte Creek Mill and the Circus comes to Eagle Point on May 21st.  Both events pull hundreds of tourists from other parts of the valley to the Upper Rogue.  Plus they are family friendly fun events, everything the Upper Rogue is about.

Regarding the Vintage Faire:  Do you, one of your employees, a spouse, a friend have a few hours over the next couple of months?  This is what we’re looking for:  A few individuals that can sit on a committee for just a couple hours a month January-April.  Contact the past vendors, help organize the volunteers, organize and help distribute flyers, contacting potential sponsors, help oversee the day of the event.

If you haven’t attended the Vintage Faire Click here to see pictures from last year’s event.

Vintage Faire Sponsors Needed:   Would you like to be a sponsor?  We’re looking for sponsors for the vintage faire.  Sponsors will be included in all marketing merchandise and pieces.  Including being recognized on the radio interviews we have already lined up to promote the vintage faire.  We’re also trying to secure a gift in kind sponsorship to create a greater presence in the Medford/Ashland are for the event.  $500 to $100 sponsorship’s are available, with a goal of obtaining $2,000 of sponsorship’s.

Volunteers for the Circus are also needed.  We would like to form a committee with Bob Pinnell as the chair.  Help with the organization of promotional materials, working with the school districts in the Rogue Valley to help get the word out to kids and families.

Coaches Needed:   The YMCA contacted us Wednesday to let us know that our kids need 5 basketball coaches.  We have a variety of coaching opportunities that start with a small 1 hour a week commitment to the largest commitment of about 5 hours a week.
1-2nd Grade Basketball – is a weekly commitment of 2.5 hours and is a one practice followed by a one hour game on Saturdays. (2 Boys Coaches Needed)
3-4th Grade Basketball – is a weekly commitment of 5 hours and is 2 hours of practice a week and games on Saturday. (2 Boys Coaches Needed
5-6th Grade Basketball – is a weekly commitment of 5 hours and is 2 hours of practice a week and games on Saturday. (1 Boys Coach Needed)

The YMCA is an instructional league and focus not on competition but instead on a positive connection with an adult role model, building fundamentals & a love for basketball.
It is the VOLUNTEER COACH that makes the sports experience at the YMCA such a positive one for youth and I am thankful for what you have already given in the past and urge you to consider giving you time again.

If you would like to volunteer as a coach contact Gary Taylor @ gTaylor@rvymca.org
