This week the colorful leaves are magnificent and are beginning to fall to the ground. Thanksgiving and Christmas are on the way and a sure sign of this are all of the holiday Bazaars occurring
across the Rogue Valley. Other gatherings are happening too. Check these out on our website calendar!
The cooler weather may be driving you inside for recreation and you are welcome to join area pickleball players at Little Butte Gym in Eagle Point. In 2012, a group of local people approached
EPSD9 about using the gym for Pickleball and it continues to be a favorite, yet limited venue, drawing people from Eagle Point, White City, Shady Cove, Sams Valley, Central Point and Medford
too!
Little Butte Gym is open for Pickleball, Mondays through Fridays, 7:45 AM to later in the AM as well as Wednesday evenings, 6-8 PM. Players' skill level ranges from beginner to 4.5. You can drop in to play or register to play using the “Playtime Scheduler” app (downloadable from the app store for both Apple and Android). In fact, the Playtime Scheduler includes several pickleball venues across the valley and the times they are open for play–inside and outside. Another venue close by, is the Shady Cove Community Center. This one court is not regulation size but players can come play there Sundays, 1-4 PM and Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30 PM.
Looking ahead, the giant, live Christmas Tree in downtown Eagle Point will be lit Friday, December 6 with festivities beginning at 6 PM. The EP Lions Club will be selling chili ($3), cookies & beverages, 6-8 PM at City Hall. At 6:30 PM, caroling and the countdown to the Tree Lighting (will happen at 7pm) will commence in Bob Moore Park on Main Street. Santa will arrive in a Fire District 3 fire engine and guide children and families back to City Hall where every child will receive a FREE small bag of candy, a FREE stuffed animal and photo with Santa–using your camera.
