Eagle Point Upper Rogue Chamber Will Coordinate
2016 Eagle Point Fourth of July Parade
Eagle Point, OR – The Eagle Point Upper Rogue Chamber Board voted to take over the responsibility of the 4th of July Parade. The Chamber intends to continue the fun run/walk that kicks off the day’s activities, which will be followed by the parade, and then will introduce a host of new 4th of July activities taking place in the afternoon.
The theme for the 2016 4th of July Parade is Apple Pie and the Fourth of July! “It’s hard for any community to out-apple-pie Eagle Point, and we plan on doing and showing what Eagle Point is best at, true ‘Apple Pie Americana’. A Small Town with a big community.” says Eagle Point Upper Rogue Chamber President, Mike Frey.
“We are so very fortunate to have a Chamber of Commerce that is always willing to step up to fill a need in our community. It’s great news that they have agreed to keep alive the tradition of our family-friendly July 4th parade!” says Henry Lawrence City Administrator of Eagle Point
The Eagle Point Chamber is excited to incorporate organized activities taking place after the parade, including:
• Live Music
• Pie Baking Contest
• ‘Best Jam In Southern Oregon’ Contest
• Kids Zone Games and Activities
• Sack Races – Three Legged Races
• Watermelon Eating
• Beer Garden
• And lots more!
“We couldn’t do any of this if it weren’t for the hard work that the Eagle Point Community Association has done over the years. Leon and Edith Sherman, Bunny Lincoln, Suzi Collins, and Joni Parsons have done an amazing job over the years, and our hats are off to them for all they do for our community,” says Eagle Point Chamber Vice-President Bob Pinnell.
