Greetings from The Eagle Point & Upper Rogue Chamber of Commerce
The holiday season is here, and everyone is busy decorating and shopping, and I hope cooking and baking
their favorite things. My wife just completed making 12 batches of homemade chocolate toffee for our
neighbors. I haven’t been able to sneak any yet, but I haven’t given up trying and hope she will made a little
more. I really hope my name is still on the “nice” list, but I’m not totally confident of that.
It is indeed a wonderful time of the year. I love seeing all the festive lights and decorations on neighborhood
homes and businesses. Do remember that Christmas and the holiday festivities are for everyone, young and
old. Please take the family for a walk or slow ride through downtown Eagle Point to view the Big Christmas
tree, the colored lights the city put up on the light poles and the holiday windows that were painted by the
Eagle Point High School art club. The students did a fantastic job on the windows, and we are looking for
community votes for your favorite window art.
Downtown is looking great and very welcoming. There are good reasons to shop and eat locally. And I know
our local merchants are as good as Santa at keeping secrets. Jody at the Main Street Coffee House has been
very closed lipped about how many of her Strawberry whipped cream Croissants I’ve had lately, and that
saves uncomfortable conversations at home.
This week the Chamber of Commerce will distribute 465 Christmas cards to local Senior living locations from
White City to Shady Cove, and the VA center, to ensure that no one if forgotten this holiday season.
We all have much to be thankful for and we are blessed to live in such a wonderful community.
And, as side note, The Chamber has already started work on the summer 4th of July program. Good things
take time, effort and dedicated volunteers.
The Eagle Point and Upper Rogue Chamber of Commerce welcomes their 3 new Board members and hopes
you will watch our 2025 calendar of activities and attend our upcoming events and Board lunches.
