Butte Creek Mill
The Mill is an iconic structure that was built in 1872. It is on the National Register of Historic Places as the last water-powered grist mill, still commercially operating, this side of the Mississippi. After a fire on Christmas morning in 2015 burned the beloved landmark to the ground, the Butte Creek Mill Foundation was formed and became the owner of Butte Creek Mill.
Butte Creek Mill Reconstruction is currently moving through the final phase of its rebuild project. The current Foundation Board owes the previous Board a debt of gratitude for their years of dedicated service and for bringing the Mill project from a burnt pile of rubble to a standing structure. The current Board is comprised of six Eagle Point residents with specific areas of expertise required to bring this project to completion and full operation. Foundation Board members are Don Blaser, Therese Hoehne, John Parsons, Jonathan Bilden and Barbara Young.
We are happy to report that much of the interior construction work has been completed and the old Country Store is now open for business. Please check our web site for business hours. www.buttecreekmill.com
