Charla’s Family Barbershop and family has been cutting hair for the Upper Rogue for 50 years and proud to keep old fashioned service with hot towels, lather and great conversation. The shop was built by Charla’s husband Gary Tauriainen with beautiful oak stations, columns and wood floors. The shop is furnished and decorated with antiques that Charla has collected over many years such as a 1912 chair from Carl Johnson’s Barbershop, which was open in Eagle Point in the 60’s and 70’s. It is said to have come out of the Mark Anthony Hotel in Ashland. There are also two matching chairs, circa 1900’s, as well as antique barber bottles, shavers, razors, scissors, a cash register and an old lather machine that came from Wayne’s Barbershop in Eagle Point. Some of these items are very much museum quality pieces and you’d have to see them to really appreciate them. These furnishings may be a glimpse of the past, but the spirit of a family, customer oriented atmosphere still remains.
