Greetings from The Eagle Point and Upper Rogue Chamber of Commerce. Sorry we didn’t get this out last week!
Summer has arrived and the warmer, shall we say hot, weather is on its way. The summers biggest downtown event in Eagle Point will be the 4th of July celebration featuring a morning fun run, venders, food trucks, and a parade on main street, a military fighter jet flyover at 11:00 AM and evening fireworks at the Eagle Point High School with a balloon man and face painting for the kids in the high School football stadium prior to the fireworks. The city of Butte Falls, just 20 minutes up the road, will conduct their 4th of July celebration and parade on main street Butte Falls on July 6th. Hope to see everyone at both events. This year’s Vintage Fair was held on May 11th and was a big success. It’s good to see it growing bigger each year.
For those, like me, who missed the April Rogue Disposal Household hazardous waste drop off in White City, Southern Oregon Sanitation will be conducting one at their Grants Pass Transfer Station on Saturday June 8th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. See their website for acceptable items.
It is nice to see that the new Eagle Point Dog Park is getting lots of use. And while on the topic of new additions; there are new owners of the Eagle Point Coffee House, soon there will be a new market on main street, and construction is almost complete for the new drive thru coffee shop and Food Truck stalls just off of Hwy.62 in Eagle Point. Walmart is reorganizing their Eagle Point store and will have a grand Re-opening ceremony in August. And, you should have noticed flags on both sides of main street for the Memorial Day holiday.
If you are looking for a quiet place to take your pets, away from the noise of the fireworks on the 4th, I understand that Shady Cove is the place to go.
