Take the plunge! Join hundreds of Southern Oregon community members to support our local Special Olympics athletes at the 2019 Polar Plunge. We’re “Plungin’ for a Purpose” to raise money on February 16, 2019 at the Jackson Aquatic Center.
The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support local Special Olympics Oregon athletes. The event is open to the public, and all spectators are welcome free of charge. The best way to plunge is with a team. Get your friends, family members, co-workers, or local organization to take the plunge with you. Plus, there are some major incentives for those who raise the most money, and a costume contest. The Southern Oregon Polar Plunge is the only pool based plunge of the five that happen across the state annually. Join us and learn more about why we’re “Freezin’ for a Reason.”
The heart and soul of Special Olympics Oregon begins in the hometowns of our athletes and Southern Oregon is no exception. Your participation and fundraising for the Polar Plunge directly impacts athlete experiences at our local level – proceeds of our event benefit Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath county athletes and provides them with training, equipment, uniforms, wellness programs, and experiences of a lifetime..
Every “plunge” participant raises a minimum of $50 to take a icy dip. Don’t want to plunge? No problem, donate $50 and attend, or sponsor another person to plunge in your place. Each participant receives a commemorative t-shirt and a bowl of soup, plus bragging rights. And the opportunity to meet our local athletes and promote your business or organization.
We are looking for local sponsors of the event, donations, community participation and plunge teams. Sponsorship Levels range from $2,500-$250. Plunge with a team, or as an individual. This is a great community service opportunity for school groups, businesses, or organizations.
