As our Upper Rogue communities journey into the Fall, schools are back in session across our region, from kindergarten through the college level. Connected to schools being back in session, an issue that is important to many of our businesses is the growth of our local workforce. Whether we are business owners, employed, looking for a new career, or coming out of school, it will be important for our community groups to work together to support our education partners as they build programs, from elementary, middle school and high school, through to college, trade schools and apprenticeships.
Your Chamber Board is very supportive of finding ways to support our education partners connect with regional businesses to build even more meaningful programs to support today’s students.
Our local schools are graduating more and more students every year, with a lot of work going into ensuring these students have the tools necessary to succeed. Local programs like Eagle Point School District 9 and Crater Lake Academy Charter School have developed strong partnerships with Rogue Community College to remove barriers for our students to have increased success in securing meaningful careers, and join our local workforce.
If you are a local business leader, and would be interested in speaking to local students regarding your industry, please do so! Our local schools are eager to showcase the local workforce options available to student.
Working together we can help better prepare tomorrow’s workforce today.
