While the heat of the summer is still with us, the back-to-school season is now right away the corner. With less than a month until schools open their doors to kids throughout the Upper Rogue, it is a good time to share about our region’s tremendous educational programs. The Upper Rogue is served by several strong K-12 educational programs, which all have a rich history of serving students. Additionally, our region is a hub of school choice for students, with a high level of flexibility for families to pick from when deciding what is the best educational path.
Located in the northern expanses of Jackson County, Prospect School District, which operates Prospect Charter, provides students with a strong community-based program with access to high-level education and college and CTE opportunities. As this school district operates as a public charter school, enrollment is open to all families in the region.
Located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Butte Falls School District operates Butte Falls Charter. This situation is also a school district / public charter school combination, allowing students from surrounding communities to enroll. Butte Falls has a strong community focus, with college opportunities, as well as a new natural resources center for students.
Eagle Point School District serves families from most of the Upper Rogue region, including Eagle Point, Shady Cove, White City, Lake Creek, and Trail. They offer a wide range of programs, from traditional classroom experiences to flexible learning opportunities and robust college and career experiences. Also part of the Eagle Point School District community, two public charter schools serve regional families. Kids Unlimited Academy offers extended day, extended year programs for elementary students from their White City Campus. Crater Lake Academy serves students in a flexible learning environment, with a focus on college and career development from their Eagle Point and White City campuses.
In addition to the region’s K-12 programs, our community is home to Rogue Community College’s Table Rock Campus. This campus is the main hub of career preparedness training and education in Southern Oregon, with numerous opportunities on campus to support individuals to secure living wage jobs.
It is really valuable that our region is home to such a diverse array of educational programs, which only benefits the future development of our workforce.
