Flag Day Chamber Social Mixer: Our next “After Hours Social Mixer” is Friday, June 14th 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Harnish Wayside Park. It’s a great opportunity to visit Harnish, the Information Hub for visitors of the Upper Rogue. Avenue of the Flags will be dedicating the Vietnam War plaque, and we’ll be grilling up some burgers and dogs with some refreshments, and as always good socializing and networking. Creating new friendships and strengthening current relationships. The after hours mixers have been A LOT of fun. If you missed it, people are still talking about the great time and dinner at the Prospect Hotel and Dinner House, so don’t miss out on this one.
Destinations Ad: The Chamber has an ad coming out this month in Destinations, the special edition for visitors and residents of the Upper Rogue. You get the first look at it right here.
Spam Festival June 29th: This year’s event will take place on the “Famous Rogue River” at the Jackson County’s Upper Rogue Regional Park, in Shady Cove. For all the information on the days fun events just click here:
Business of the Year: Last year at the Chamber Annual Dinner we introduced the “Helen Wolgamott Award” which will be given annually to the volunteer of the year. The first winner was Nancy Leonard. This year the Annual Dinner will be at the Rogue River Lodge, and we will also be introducing the “Business of the Year Award.” The award will be given to a Chamber Member and will be voted for by Chamber Members. In the next couple of weeks, a survey will be sent out asking some questions about the criteria you feel is important to use to judge the a Business of the Year . So keep a look out for that, as your feedback will help create what we hope will be a very prestigious award.
Be the BEST Ambassador: We all gain from the success of each business and each event. So be a great Ambassador of the Chamber and the Upper Rogue. Tens of thousands of visitors will be streaming down Hwy 62 this summer, and when they stop at your place, make sure to recommend another great Upper Rogue business. If someone asks for directions, make sure to ask “Have you been to the Butte Creek Mill?” “Do you like wine?” Make sure to stop by Agate Ridge, or Crater Lake Cellars is right on 62″ “You’ve never had brunch till you had brunch at the Rogue River Lodge” Best prime rib? …can’t beat the Prospect Historic Hotel and Dinner House” “The Rogue River you say… Stop by the Fishing Hole they ARE the Rogue River!” You get the idea. As business owners and individuals we do have some control over our local economy. This summer let’s use that control. One more stop! If we could get every visitor who stops at a shop to stop at ONE more shop that they wouldn’t have, what would that do to our economy? So ambassadors, let’s make that our goal, ONE more stop.
Have an event or something special going on? Let us and the Upper Rogue know about it by posting it on our events calendar. It’s as easy as clicking right here.
Join our party on Facebook. Almost 1,300 ‘likes’ and followers of events and going on’s in the Upper Rogue. Just another great communication tool that your Chamber is using.
