An initial organizational meeting sponsored by the Ford Foundation of Roseburg created the Upper Rogue Networking Group. At the same meeting members of non profit groups, other community stake holders and service providers in the Upper Rogue area, identified the major barriers that have prevented them from achieving their goals in our rural setting.
The major barriers identified in the Upper Rogue Networking Group‘s survey results:
*Need for an Upper Rogue Master Calendar to prevent event scheduling conflicts
*Difficulty recruiting volunteers for and publicizing events
*Lack of ways for Upper Rogue non profits to share funding, ideas, volunteers, and services
The Upper Rogue Networking Group’s steering committee is sponsoring a ‘free’ presentation of the survey results. This public meeting is on January 24, 2013, 4:30 PM at the Edge Water Inn meeting room in Shady Cove. The program also includes a panel discussion, “The Care and Feeding of Volunteers”. Light refreshments will be served. Participants are urged to bring dates and times for events to include in the Upper Rogue Master Calendar.
